For over four decades, the Avalon Center has proudly served multiple counties across Tennessee, providing critical, life-saving services to victims of domestic and sexual violence. Our mission is to end power-based violence and support survivors as they rebuild safe, independent lives. We offer a comprehensive array of services - including emergency shelter, a 24-hour crisis line, court advocacy, professional counseling, hospital accompaniment, prevention education, and transitional housing - all provided free of charge.

The Mission of Tennessee 4-H, conducted through the University of Tennessee Extension, is to empower young people with the knowledge, skills and values needed to become capable, responsible, and engaged citizens. Through experiential learning built on the principles of Head, Heart, Hands, and Health, 4-H provides youth with opportunities to lead, serve, and grow. The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and generosity of donors. Disaster Response and Recovery allow the Red Cross to help people and communities prepare for, respond to and recover from more than 60,000 disasters each year. This includes providing food, shelter, relief supplies, emotional support, recovery planning and other assistance, as well as supporting the vehicles, warehouses and people who make that possible. United Way funds allow us to prepare for and deliver help to Rhea County residents who need it - anytime, anywhere.
